Bluffton, SC: The Rotary Club of Bluffton proudly announces the names of organizations that have received grants for the second half of 2024. The recipients list includes: Meals on Wheels, Bluffton Self Help, Special Olympics and Recreation (SOAR) for bus repair and a driver, and South Carolina Nurse Retention Initiative (SCNRI) for a nurse with an associate’s degree.
The notable club diligently assesses multitude of grant applications annually and bestows selected organizations with donations on a bi-yearly basis. The sole criteria is – the recipients must be involved in charitable efforts in the local area.
The Rotary Club of Bluffton declared the recipients of its Fall 2024 scholarships, including Riley Burkhart from Bluffton High School, Caleb Winget from Hilton Head Christian Academy, both heading to Clemson University, and Kristen Claffy from May River High School who will be attending the University of South Carolina.

Fairfax, SC – In good news for the healthcare sector, the Allendale County Hospital announced the opening of the Allendale County Hospital Advanced Wound Care, an expert outpatient wound care center devoted to the treatment of patients with wounds.
Allendale County Hospital CEO, Lari Gooding, stated, “Our dedicated clinical staff understands the patient from a comprehensive perspective of wound healing. The aim is to address not just the wound, but the root cause of the wound.”

Named as the new associate dean for academic and student affairs for the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie, Dr. Sarah Miller is looking forward to contributing more towards the progress of the campus where she has been an active part since 2006.
