Bluffton Pool, a popular summer spot located at 55 Pritchard St. in Bluffton, officially closed on June 3 for extensive renovation and construction leaving local residents searching for alternatives for pool entertainment this summer. The current project is scheduled to last until Feb. 1, 2025, according to the Beaufort County Parks and Recreation Department. However, several other community pools in Beaufort County remain open and are ready to welcome swimmers of all ages.
Upon completion, the Bluffton Pool will feature updated exteriors, a newly installed air system, insulation in the roof, and extensive improvements to the interior decor. This comprehensive renovation is estimated to take around eight months. Current progress is said to be nearing the completion of the demolition phase of the project.
Patrons of the pool were informed of the summer-long closure through personal notifications and updates posted on the official Beaufort County Parks and Recreation’s website.
While the Bluffton pool undergoes its transformation, there are several other pools in Beaufort County still open and ready to greet swimmers. These options include the Alvin Settles Pool on 1710 Greene Street in Beaufort featuring two outdoor pools, sprinklers, umbrella waterfall, and an inflatable obstacle course along with numerous other amenities. Another indoor option is The Battery Creek Pool located at 1B Blue Dolphin Drive offering a heated 25-yard pool with six lanes. The Beaufort Pool, located on 35 Youmans Drive in Lady’s Island also offers a 25-yard indoor pool with six lanes.
