August 14, 2024 – Beaufort, SC – The Beaufort Film Society (BFS) recently announced the schedule for the much-anticipated 2024 Shorts @ High Noon film screenings. Taking place every Wednesday at noon from September 11 through November 13, film enthusiasts can look forward to a string of exclusive short films selected from the 2024 Beaufort International Film Festival (BIFF).
The viewings will be held at the Technical College of the Lowcountry Auditorium at 921 Ribaut Road, Building 12, in Beaufort. Admission is free and screenings are approximately an hour long, starting at noon with check-in beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The BFS has assembled a diverse range of short films, animations, and documentaries that will be showcased during this period. September 11 will kick-start the screenings with films like Dandelion*, a four-minute animation, and Nisei, a 22-minute short film. Other selections include Dear Owner and Slobopoly*, geared towards student audiences.
The subsequent weeks will see a mix of animation, student films, short documentaries, and shorts from various genres. Each week brings a new set of films to the screen, ranging from intense suspense tales like A Shattering to heartwarming narratives such as Because I Love You and informative documentaries like Rodenwald: Toward a More Perfect Union. Films marked with a * signify that they were winners at the 2024 BIFF.
On November 20, attending BFS members will have the exciting opportunity to have their say on what the official selection for the upcoming 2025 BIFF should be. They will be able to choose from one of three BIFF 2025 submissions. An official BFS membership proof will be required for this exclusive voting privilege.
