The Beaufort Police force has embarked on an investigation into a shooting incident that sent one individual to the hospital. The incident occurred during the evening hours of July 4 at the Ashley Point Apartments located on Carolina Wren Drive. Police were alerted to the shooting at approximately 7:17 p.m.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers from the Beaufort Police force found a single victim suffering from a gunshot wound. MSgt. Lori Reeves, a representative for the Beaufort Police, confirmed that immediate aid was given to the victim at the scene. Following preliminary treatment, the victim was transported to an area hospital by Beaufort County EMS.
Given the severity of the injuries sustained, the victim was later transferred to a medical facility located in Charleston for further treatment. The transfer was conducted ensuring that the individual would receive the specialized care required for their recovery.
Beaufort Police are presently in the process of identifying the gunman involved in the shooting incident at the Ashley Point Apartments. As of now, no suspect has been named in this case, and the shooter remains at large.
