Residents of Beaufort County will soon benefit from enhanced medical services as Beaufort Memorial Hospital plans the expansion of its urology and breast-cancer-prevention services at the Okatie Medical Pavilion.
The hospital has made strategic strides in battling breast cancer through its Breast Cancer Genetics & High-Risk Program. The expansion has seen the hiring of a new board-certified nurse practitioner, Susanne Remynse, who will be seeing patients at the Beaufort Memorial Breast Health Center. Working alongside Tara Grahovac, a board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgeon, the team will be primarily assisting patients diagnosed with an “above-average risk” of developing breast cancer.
The new expansion is a part of Beaufort Memorial Hospital’s cancer prevention and early detection commitment, focusing on both the physical and emotional aspects of breast disease. Appointments at the Breast Cancer Genetics & High-Risk Program can be made via phone call at (843) 707-8085.
In acknowledgement of a growing need for urology providers nationwide, Beaufort Memorial will also inaugurate its Urology Specialists branch at the Okatie Medical Pavilion on June 18. The clinic, under the experienced leadership of board-certified urologist Dr. Louis Remynse, also includes board-certified physician assistants Matt Baker and Kristin Callaghan in its team. To schedule appointments with the Beaufort Memorial urology practice, patients are encouraged to call 843-524-7607.
Beaufort Memorial is striving to accommodate the evolving medical needs of the growing local community. The expansion at the Okatie Medical Pavilion is seen as a significant step towards realizing this commitment as shared by the Beaufort Memorial President and CEO, Russell Baxley. Beaufort Memorial continues to observe a high demand in urology, making it a priority area for resource allocation and expansion.
Beaufort Memorial’s upgraded facilities and additional health care services at the Okatie Medical Pavilion will enhance access to quality medical care, catering to both current and future medical needs. These efforts are evidence of their dedication to deliver comprehensive, specialized medical services to meet and exceed the health needs of its patients.
The enhanced medical provisions by Beaufort Memorial at Okatie Medical Pavilion mark an important upswing in health care quality and accessibility for the residents of Beaufort County, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to amplify health and wellness in the community.
