19-year-old Beaufort man killed in Valentine’s Day crash

A 19-year-old man named Ethan Fish was tragically killed in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Valentine’s Day in Beaufort, South Carolina. The accident transpired on the Robert Smalls Parkway during the early hours of Wednesday, February 14.

The Tragic Incident

Ethan Fish was riding his 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle west on the Robert Smalls Parkway when a 2012 Ford pickup truck collided with him around 12:25 a.m. The pickup, driven by an unidentified man, had turned left from Goethe Hill Road at the time of the fatal accident. According to Master Trooper William H. Bennett of the S.C. Highway Patrol (SCHP), Fish was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

The pickup truck driver was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. The condition and identity of the man have not yet been confirmed by officials. The fatal incident is still being investigated by the SCHP.

Community Support

A Go-Fund-Me page was initiated by Dylan Fish, presumably a relative of Ethan Fish, in order to raise money for Ethan’s funeral and other unforeseen expenses. The fundraiser exceeded its initial goal of $5,000, having collected $28,835 to date. On this difficult occasion, the community has displayed astounding unity and support in the wake of such a heart-wrenching incident.

Motorcycle Safety

Motorcycle-related accidents have increasingly become a cause for concern on our roads today. The death of the young Fish serves as a somber reminder of the importance of safety precautions while on the road. It is imperative for all road users, including motorcyclists and drivers of larger vehicles, to exercise caution and responsible driving.

As we mourn the loss of Ethan Fish, let his untimely demise be a crucial reminder of the dangers that can lurk on our roads. We hope that this tragic event will prompt authorities to enhance traffic regulations enforcement and awareness campaigns to prevent such incidents in the future.

Our deepest condolences extend to the family, friends, and loved ones affected by this tragic incident.
