Beaufort, South Carolina – The South Carolina Department of Public Health and the Beaufort County Health Department have announced an upcoming event offering free breast cancer screenings, mammograms, and cervical checks to qualifying women. The event is slated for Monday, July 29, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Qualifications and Importance of Screenings

In collaboration with the Best Chance Network, free mammograms will be provided to qualifying women aged 21 to 64 who are either without insurance or have a high insurance deductible. Additional Statistics on Breast Cancer

Early detection through mammograms improves the survival rates significantly. These free screenings provided by the Beaufort County Health Department serve as an invaluable step toward increased early detection and improved patient prognosis.

Community Support for the Initiative

Local support for the free screenings has been overwhelming, with many seeing it as a positive stride toward health empowerment. Various local businesses and volunteer organizations are planning to offer their resources in support of the event. This community support underscores the shared determination to battle breast cancer in South Carolina.
