Hello, Beaufort County! We’re excited to share some fantastic news for our veterans and their families. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 19, because that’s when the Veterans Assistance Expo is happening! It’s a wonderful opportunity for veterans to connect with various resources and get the support they need.
The expo will take place at the Technical College of the Lowcountry, located at 104 Reynolds Street in Beaufort. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is completely free for all veterans and their dependents living in the area.
There’s going to be a lot happening at the expo! Veterans Affairs officials from both Beaufort County and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will be on hand to assist with a range of important topics. They will provide guidance on disability and pension claims, helping veterans and their spouses navigate the often complicated paperwork for various benefits.
In addition, there will be resources for those seeking information on readiness and employment benefits. It’s a great chance for veterans to learn about the different vendors and services offered by community partners that can help them transition smoothly into civilian life.
Ever thought about working with the VA? A representative from the VA Human Resources department will also be present to discuss education and job opportunities within the VA Administration. This could be a fantastic pathway for veterans looking to put their skills to use in meaningful roles.
For those who can’t make it to the expo, don’t worry! The Beaufort County Veterans Affairs Office is here to help you. They assist veterans, spouses, and dependents in accessing government programs designed for your needs. If you’d like to make an appointment with a VA counselor, just give them a call at 843-255-6880.
Additionally, you can check out the Federal Benefits Handbook for Veterans, Dependents and Survivors, which is a great resource to better understand what benefits you may be eligible for. This handbook can be found on the VA’s official website and will help you make informed decisions about your options.
So, whether you’re a veteran looking for assistance or a family member supporting a loved one, make sure to take advantage of this incredible opportunity. The Veterans Assistance Expo is a great way to find the resources and answers you need in a friendly environment.
We hope to see you all there on October 19. It’s not just about getting help; it’s about connecting with one another and strengthening our community. Spread the word, and let’s support our veterans together!
