Beaufort County Prepares for a Joyful Thanksgiving Celebration with Community Dinners and Dining Options

Beaufort County Gears Up for a Heartwarming Thanksgiving!

Hey there, Beaufort! Can you believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner? It’s less than a week away, and if you haven’t quite decided where you’ll be savoring that delicious turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce (and let’s be honest, hopefully a slice or two of pie), fear not! Our wonderful Lowcountry community has come together to offer some fantastic dining options, all steeped in that sweet Southern spirit of togetherness.

A Tradition of Giving

For decades now, Beaufort County has shown its heart by bringing folks together over a home-cooked meal on Thanksgiving Day. This tradition isn’t just about the food; it’s about caring for one another and making sure everyone has a place to share and laugh. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers help organize free, community-style dinners across the county, and this year is no exception!

Big Events You Won’t Want to Miss

Start your Thanksgiving celebration at the Parish Church of St. Helena, hosting a fantastic afternoon from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. This annual community dinner, sponsored by St. Andrew By-The-Sea United Methodist Church and Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks, has been a local favorite since 1999. With over 400 volunteers helping serve more than 1,600 guests, it’s a must-go event for a hearty meal and great company!

Another exciting option is the beloved Hemingway’s Bistro, kicking off their 31st annual “Orphans and Strays Thanksgiving” potluck at 2 p.m.. Alongside Panini’s on the Waterfront, they promise a delightful meal where the restaurants will handle the main courses, but you’ve got the chance to add to the spread by bringing along your favorite dish!

Over on St. Helena Island, the Marshview Community Organic Farm will serve up a wholesome Thanksgiving meal from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect a mouth-watering spread of turkey, dressing, green beans, and dirty rice. While donations are appreciated, this is all about community and sharing good food!

Dine-In Options Galore!

If you’re looking to skip the cooking entirely this year, Beaufort County has plenty of restaurants eager to serve you a delicious Thanksgiving feast right at their tables. Whether you’re headed north or south of the Broad River, you won’t be lacking in tasty options!

Now, some popular spots like Celeste and CQ’s have already filled their reservation slots, but don’t fret! There are still plenty of other classic restaurants where you can dine in and enjoy all the Thanksgiving favorites:

  • Fishcamp on Broad Creek
  • Old Oyster Factory
  • Poseidon
  • Skull Creek Dockside
  • WiseGuys
  • Skillets Cafe & Grill
  • Nick’s Steak & Seafood
  • Beach House Hilton Head – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At Beach House, guests can indulge in a scrumptious buffet for just $45.95 for adults, $22.95 for kids aged 6-12, and $10.95 for the little ones. Treat yourself to savory smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and even decadent red velvet truffles!

And the list goes on with delicious meals from other nearby restaurants, such as One Hot Mama’s, Nectar, and Frankie Bones Restaurant and Lounge, each providing a feast fit for the whole family.

Finding Your Perfect Feast

With so many amazing options, all that’s left is to gather your loved ones and make a plan for a Thanksgiving filled with laughter, gratitude, and of course, plenty of delicious food! Whether you’re attending a free community meal or enjoying the comforts of a cozy restaurant, you’re sure to feel the warmth and kindness of our beloved Lowcountry.

Happy Thanksgiving, Beaufort County! Let’s make this year another memorable one!
