The incident began around 10:20 p.m. when the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received calls reporting a shooting at the intersection of Parris Island Gateway and Trask Parkway in the Burton area.

Within minutes of the shooting reports, there was another call that came in about a vehicle fire in the 800 block of Ribaut Road in Beaufort. Authorities quickly connected the dots, realizing these two incidents were related. Eyewitness accounts and surveillance footage from a nearby business depict a troubling scene: a person was seen shooting into a vehicle just moments before multiple cars sped away from the area of Trask Parkway.

From preliminary investigations, law enforcement has confirmed that there were three people inside the vehicle when the assault took place. Tragically, as they rushed to the hospital, the vehicle crashed and burst into flames. Sadly, two out of the three individuals in the vehicle did not survive the horrific ordeal, while the third is currently being treated for their injuries.
