Beaufort County Schools Achieve Remarkable Improvement in Latest Report Cards

Exciting Times for Beaufort County Schools!

Beaufort, a vibrant community in South Carolina, is buzzing with excitement following the release of the new school report cards for the 2023-24 academic year! For the first time since 2018, no school in the county has been ranked as unsatisfactory. That’s a big win for students, parents, and educators alike!

Good News on School Ratings

The overall success is apparent, as more than half of the schools achieved either Good or Excellent ratings. In fact, the numbers jumped from 44% last year to an impressive count of schools delivering better results this year. This notable improvement reflects the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the education system.

Looking closer at the figures, eight out of nine middle schools saw improvements or maintained their steady performance. Meanwhile, high school seniors are shining bright, with a remarkable 82.8% deemed college or career-ready! This aligns perfectly with the district’s graduation rate, which reached a record-breaking 88.6%. Truly commendable achievements!

Expansion Plans Ahead

What’s even more thrilling? Plans are already in motion to expand the North of the Broad Magnet School Assistance Program to Hilton Head Island Schools, thanks to a generous $14.9 million federal grant. Chief Instructional Services Officer Mary Stratos has expressed enthusiasm about this project, which aims to enhance educational options in the area.

Moreover, in a bid to support the nearly 4,500 multilingual learners, the district is also ramping up extended learning opportunities through a $2.3 million Catalyst Grant. With these additions, educational horizons are certainly widening across Beaufort County!
