Beaufort County School District Welcome four New Principals

Beaufort County – The School District has placed four new leading figures at the helm of St. Helena Elementary School, Bluffton High School, H.E. McCracken Middle School, and Whale Branch Elementary School. These appointments were finalized on June 11. The exploration for an impeccable match for these positions witnessed a comprehensive application and interview process involving an eclectic panel of school district representatives.

New Principals taking the lead

St. Helena Elementary School welcomes Constance Goodwine-Lewis taking over the reins from the retiring Dr. Tara Mack. Goodwine-Lewis, a local, is currently the principal at Broad River Elementary School.

Bluffton High School will see Matt Hall stepping into the shoes of retiring Denise Donica. Matt, an experienced hand in education, holds the position of principal at the Bluffton Middle School presently.

H.E. McCracken Middle School introduced Dr. Roger Ward as the new principal, replacing Ryan Milling. Dr. Ward, an experienced teacher, and school head brings to the table, his valuable work record from his former postings in numerous Tennessee and South Carolina schools.

Whale Branch Elementary School has appointed Carlos Williams as the new principal. Williams would be taking over from the retiring Marva Neal. A seasoned special educator, Williams shifts to this role from his current position as BCSD’s Coordinator of Elementary Math.

Remarkable Credentials

The newly appointed principals come with sterling educational backgrounds and a rich record of service.

Constance Goodwine-Lewis, a Beaufort County native, has almost a quarter-century of experience in Back River Elementary School. She possesses master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Special Education from reputed universities.

Matt Hall, starting his career as a physical education teacher, gradually moved into educational administration roles in the Beaufort County School District before his current role in Bluffton Middle.

Dr. Roger Ward brings with him the hard-earned practical experience from his tenures as fifth-grade teacher, principal, and school executive at different institutions spanning Tennessee and South Carolina.

Carlos Williams, starting off as a special educator, has worked extensively across South Carolina and Maryland and has held administrative positions in many renowned institutions.

Seeking More Leaders

The search is still on for new principals for Broad River Elementary School and Bluffton Middle School. These positions are expected to be filled this summer.
