Five Arrested on Drug Charges Following Extensive Beaufort County Investigation

In a significant move against drug-related crimes in South Carolina, five individuals have been apprehended as part of a months-long investigation into the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics in Bluffton, Beaufort County. The five suspects were taken into custody in the early hours of Friday morning. The operation was carried out by the combined efforts of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Task Force and Bluffton Police. The suspects were apprehended in the vicinity of Martha Brown Circle and Goethe Road in Bluffton and are currently being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center.

Charges Against the Suspects

  • Zachary Daniel Buzzetto, 39, of Bluffton: Distribution of methamphetamine first offense, excludes manufacturing meth, possession with intent to distribute cocaine within a half mile of a school.
  • Jesus Mike Rosario, 66, of Hilton Head Island: Simple possession of crack cocaine, possession of marijuana 28 grams, less than 10 grams of hash, first offense.
  • Christopher James Sparks, 52, of Bluffton: Manufacture, distribution, etc. of cocaine base, first offense; distribute, sell, manufacture, possession with intent to distribute, or purchase of controlled substance within proximity of school.
  • Stuart Bertram Lupinski, 33, of Bluffton: Manufacture, distribution, etc. of cocaine base, first offense; possession with intent to distribute cocaine within a half mile of a school.
  • Donnell Antonio Mitchell, Sr., 56, of Bluffton: Two counts of manufacture, distribution, etc. of cocaine base, first offense; three counts of possession with intent to distribute crack within a half mile of a school.
