One Dead in Beaufort County Late-Night Road Accident, Troopers Investigate

In a tragic incident in Beaufort County on Tuesday night, one person died following a single-vehicle collision. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the accident.

Details about the Accident

At approximately 11:01 PM on Tuesday night, a serious motor accident occurred on Brickyard Point Road North near Ferguson Drive, about 3.2 miles east of Beaufort. According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway, the single-vehicle collision involved a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck.

The Chevrolet was reportedly traveling east on Brickyard Point Road North. In circumstances yet to be made clear, the vehicle veered off the left side of the road, then overcorrected, causing it to veer off the roadway to the right where it overturned.

The Casualty

The Chevrolet pickup truck was solely occupied by the driver, who was unfortunately pronounced dead at the accident scene. As of this report, the victim’s identity has not been released by the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office. All due process in accordance with state law will take place before this happens.
