Beaufort Lowcountry Welcomes Exciting Community Events

Hey there, Beaufort! Are you ready for a whirlwind of events designed to bring our community together? Whether you want to give back, tap into your creative side, or empower yourself and others, there’s something special happening right in our own picturesque Lowcountry. Mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss out on these fabulous events coming up soon.

A Heartfelt Blood Drive

First up, we have a very important American Red Cross blood drive on February 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hardeeville Recreation Center, located at 285 John Smith Road. This drive is in loving memory of Cpl. Mark Jones, a Marine Corps veteran who tragically lost his life while responding to a call back in 2005. What better way to honor his memory than by giving the gift of life? You can easily schedule your appointment online at www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767. Let’s come together and make a difference!

Creative Quilting Workshop

Mark your calendars for March 1, starting bright and early at 9 a.m., as the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage hosts a full-day quilt-making workshop. This isn’t just any workshop, but a chance to learn simple techniques and create your very own “Fierce Warrior Woman” masterpiece. For just $100, you can unleash your creativity and leave with a unique creation. If you’d like more information or to register, hop onto the Morris Center’s website and reserve your spot!

Women’s Empowerment Event

Calling all women! A special women’s empowerment event is being organized this spring by Wendye Savage, a local hero from Gillisonville. Wendye is a published author, international speaker, and mental health advocate, dedicated to uplifting women in our community. She has previously run successful Author’s Expos and Women’s Empowerment Conferences. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear from inspiring speakers and make valuable connections, so keep an eye out for the details!

Soup and Community Spirit

On February 8, join the SouperBowl of Caring event from 1-4 p.m. at Coligny Plaza. Sample delicious soups from some of our finest local restaurants while supporting a great cause. This event raises money for Second Helpings, a local food rescue organization. With tickets priced at $25, you can indulge in some culinary delights while helping to combat food waste in our beautiful Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton counties.

Tailgate for a Cause

Get ready for the inaugural Jersey and Dresses Tailgate event on Valentine’s weekend! Kick things off with a welcome reception on February 14 at FISH Coastal Cuisine. Then, on February 15, join the main festivities at the Concourse of Hilton Head. Not only will it be a fun-filled time, but all proceeds will benefit various organizations doing great work in our community, like the All American Football Camp and Eagles Autism Foundation. Let’s show some love this Valentine’s Day!

Bountiful Beaufort Charities Festival

And don’t forget about the 50th annual Beaufort Charities Festival from February 28 to March 1 at Live Oaks Park in Port Royal! Enjoy a weekend packed with drinks, live entertainment, and an all-day oyster roast on March 1. There will be something for everyone, including souvenir cups and a special kid zone. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in the spirit of our community.

Socializing for Young Professionals

We’ve also seen a fantastic turnout at the recent social event for Lowcountry Young Professionals. The January 8 event drew a whopping 89 attendees, nearly double their previous record! Make sure to join the next social on February 6 at Magnolia Cafe – it’s a great opportunity to network and meet new friends!

So there you have it, Beaufort! Whether you’re charity-minded, crafty, or just looking to mingle, there’s an event waiting for you. Let’s participate and show our community spirit while having a blast!
