On March 29, Beaufort Academy hosted its fifth annual Great Helicopter Egg Drop, where nearly 20,000 Easter eggs were dropped from a helicopter onto the football field. Children ages four to 11 raced to collect these eggs, which contained various prizes including gift certificates and toys. The event featured additional activities such as age-specific egg hunts, bounce houses, and local food trucks, creating a festive atmosphere for families in Beaufort, SC.
Beaufort, SC – A helicopter dropped nearly 20,000 Easter eggs on Beaufort Academy’s football field on Saturday, March 29, marking the fifth edition of this beloved local tradition.
The event took place from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Beaufort Academy, located at 240 Sams Point Road on Lady’s Island. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required, limiting participation to the first 1,300 children who register.

Attendees were encouraged to arrive early, with parking available at Beaufort Academy and a designated shuttle location on Sams Point Road. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled to Sunday, March 30, with the same times for the egg drop.
