Fall Book Sale

Beaufort Set to Host Annual Fall Book Sale

Hey there, Beaufort residents! Mark your calendars because book lovers are in for a treat! From November 1st through 3rd, the **Friends of the Beaufort Library** will be holding their much-anticipated Annual Fall Book Sale at the picturesque Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort.

A Bookworm’s Paradise

If you’ve been itching to pick up some new reads without breaking the bank, you’re in luck! This year’s sale boasts an impressive collection of over 40,000 gently used books, as well as music, movies, and audiobooks—all available at unbeatable prices! You heard it right—hardback books go for just $2, and most paperbacks can be snagged for a mere 50 cents each. With such wallet-friendly options, it’s time to fill those book shelves!

What’s in Store?

The variety at this sale is simply exhilarating! You’ll find everything from cooking and gardening books to titles on the occult and metaphysical. However, fiction and mystery genres dominate the shelves, drawing crowds like moths to a flame. Plus, don’t miss out on the rare and collectible gems, including a fantastic selection centered on local Lowcountry authors and topics.

Exclusive Pre-Sale for Members

Excitingly, on Friday, November 1st, there will be a private sale just for members of the Friends of the Library. If you’re not a member yet, don’t worry! There’s still time to join for just $25 per household or $15 if you’re from a military household. Signing up allows you to access the pre-sale and get first dibs on the books!

Sale Hours

The doors will open to the general public on November 1st at 11 AM, and you can shop until 8 PM. The sale continues on Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM and wraps up on Sunday with a special twist: from 10 AM to 3 PM, all books and audio-visual items will be half-price! What a great opportunity to stock up on those must-have titles and rare finds!

Don’t Miss Out!

This annual event is extremely popular, pulling in bookworms from all around. It’s truly a testament to the fact that books are alive and well! Many attendees affectionately scavenge for their favorite reads, some even leaving with 10 books or more in hand! If you want the best selection, make sure you get there early.

Why Support the Friends of the Library?

Now, it’s interesting to note that the very first Friends of the Beaufort Library book sale back in 1987 made just $900 in total sales. Fast forward to today, and this fundraiser is responsible for generating half of the total income for the Friends of the Beaufort Library; all proceeds go directly back into supporting our beloved library.

Join the Fun!

Whether you’re a seasoned book collector or just looking to dive into a new genre, the Annual Fall Book Sale promises something for everyone. Gather your friends, bring your tote bags, and prepare for a fun-filled day of shopping! Let’s come together to support our local library and enjoy all the wonders that the world of books has to offer!

For any additional details or to find out more about becoming a member of the Friends of the Beaufort Library, keep an eye out for further information closer to the date. Happy reading, Beaufort!
