Alex Brown Secures Re-Election as Ward 1 Representative in Hilton Head Council

Exciting News for Hilton Head: Alex Brown Continues to Represent Ward 1!

In a thrilling election, **Hilton Head Island** has re-elected Alex Brown as the Ward 1 representative on the Town Council! This means that Alex will keep serving the amazing residents living between Squire Pope Road and Union Cemetery Road for the next four years. What a win for the community!

A Strong Showing at the Polls

Alex, who has been representing Hilton Head since 2020, faced off against Daniel Anthony, a long-time local and co-founder of the Jonesville Preservation Society. After all the votes were counted—100% to be exact—Alex Brown emerged victorious with a whopping 1,400 votes, which is an impressive 68.4%! Daniel Anthony garnered 638 votes, or 31.1%. Talk about a decisive win!

What’s Next for Alex Brown?

After the results came in late Tuesday night, Alex took to social media to express his gratitude by posting, “Thank you for all the support! I look forward to another 4 years! We All Win!” His enthusiasm for continuing to serve the community is palpable!

In his previous term, Alex has worn many hats, including chair of the finance committee and a crucial liaison between the Island Recreation Center and the town. He is also involved in various boards and committees, like the Gullah Geechee Historic Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation and the IW Wilborn Scholarship Committee. Clearly, he is dedicated to making Hilton Head a better place for everyone.

Priorities for the Future

Looking ahead, Alex has outlined some significant priorities for his upcoming term. If re-elected, he aims to tackle the ongoing challenges surrounding the gateway corridor issues that have long puzzled the community.
