HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Women’s Golf Closes Second Round of Action at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
The University of Alabama women’s golf team faced a tough second round at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, slipping four spots to 15th place after 36 holes of play. The Crimson Tide posted a 36-hole total of 589 (289-300) as they head into the final round of competition on Wednesday morning.
Round Two Highlights
Elina Sinz made a significant leap on the leaderboard, climbing seven spots after carding a 2-over par 73 in round two. Sinz’s strong performance was matched by Kaitlyn Schroeder, who also finished the day tied for 31st place overall with a score of 2-over par. Sarah Edwards sits in a tie for 63rd with a total of 7-over 149 (72-77), while Taylor Kehoe (74-76/150) and Mattie Frick (80-78/158) complete the Crimson Tide’s lineup in 68th and 86th place, respectively. Playing as an individual, Harriet Lockley surged up the leaderboard, gaining 12 spots to finish round two tied for 44th.
Team Results
Northwestern (-5), Arizona State (-4), and Auburn (-2) claimed the top three spots on the leaderboard, with Duke (+3) in fourth place. LSU (+4) and South Carolina (+4) are tied for fifth in the 17-team field. Alabama will look to make a move in the final round and improve their position in the standings.
