A Glimpse into the Past

This year’s festival invites visitors to step back into the year 1910. You can look forward to enjoying period games designed for children and adults alike, with everyone encouraged to immerse themselves in the historic charm of Edwardian Fort Fremont. You can’t miss the enchanting music, mouthwatering food, and the array of unique crafts that will be available. Plus, you might even spot some delightful folks dressed in era-appropriate costumes as they welcome you into this enchanting scene.

No Admission Fee!

One of the best parts of this fantastic festival is that there is absolutely no admission fee! Children and adults can enjoy an array of entertainment without worrying about the cost. Although the food and crafts will be available for purchase, the activities and festivities promise to be well worth it!

For those who may have trouble parking or want to make their visit easier, there’s good news! A free shuttle service will be provided from Land’s End Woodlands Road, which is just a mile away from the Preserve. So, hop on board and relax as you get ready for an unforgettable day.

What’s New This Year?

The Fort Fremont Harvest Festival is going to be even bigger and better than last year! You can expect to see more of your favorite local food vendors, as well as exciting history displays from local non-profits. Notably, there will be a fascinating demonstration showcasing the Carolina rice culture, which is sure to captivate visitors of all ages!

In addition to all this, there will be numerous hands-on activities. Kids (and adults!) can get into the spirit of the season by decorating their own hats and making adorable corn husk dolls. Talk about making memories!

A Chance to Meet the Fort Fremont Baseball Team

And it gets even better – rumor has it that there may be a special appearance by the famous Fort Fremont baseball team! So, sports fans, this could be your chance to see some local legends in action!

Historic Fort Fremont

For a little background, the original Fort Fremont was constructed back in 1898 during the Spanish-American War to help defend the coastal area of the Port Royal Sound and the nearby Naval Station at Parris Island. Today, Beaufort County has preserved a lovely 18-acre portion of this historic site, which serves as a peaceful park for everyone to enjoy.

The Fort Fremont Preserve is open to the public free of charge every day from dawn until dusk. Inside the park, you can explore a mixed hardwood forest with lovely walking trails, a picnic pavilion, and remnants of historic batteries. Don’t forget to check out the History Center, where volunteers from the Friends of Fort Fremont show off a fantastic exhibit hall filled with period artifacts and dioramas every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Join the Fun!

We hope to see you at the 2nd Annual Fort Fremont Harvest Festival on November 3rd! Bring your family, gather your friends, and prepare for an afternoon of fun, festivities, and a unique journey into history. Let’s make this day one to remember!
