Beaufort County Opens Storm Shelters amidst Tropical Storm Debby
In response to the escalating threat of Tropical Storm Debby, Beaufort County has opened two storm shelters to aid those most affected by the severe weather condition. The heavy rain has prompted the authorities to open these facilities, providing residents an immediate respite.

The two newly opened shelters are sited at Battery Creek High School that can be found at 1 Blue Dolphin Drive in Burton and the other one at Bluffton Middle School located at 30 New Mustang Drive in Bluffton.
It is essential to note that these shelters have limited resources and do not accept pets. Anyone seeking refuge in these facilities are requested to bring their own supplies, including food and water.
Additional Shelter in Jasper County
An additional storm shelter is open in neighboring Jasper County at Ridgeland Elementary School. This specific shelter is more equipped as it is pet-friendly and accommodates special needs.
