District Announces New Principals for Upcoming School Year

Beaufort County School District Appoints Four New School Leaders

Beaufort County School District is all set to welcome four new principals for its forthcoming school year. These veteran administrators are seamlessly moving into leadership positions at four different schools within the district, as affirmed by Superintendent Frank Rodriguez.

According to Superintendent Rodriguez, “Every exceptional district has strong school leaders, and I’m excited to see these superb educators be successful in their new roles. They’re experienced, they understand the importance of creating a school culture of moving academic achievement and ensuring our students succeed.” The new school year for this district begins on Aug. 7. Jamie Allen, Brantley Wilson, Sonji Leach, and Keith Stewart have been appointed to their new principalships.

Jamie Allen to Serve as Broad River Elementary’s New Principal

Jamie Allen, who previously served as the principal at Whale Branch Middle School, is set to take over the reins of Broad River Elementary School. Allen replaces Constance Goodwine-Lewis who will now serve as the principal of St. Helena Elementary School. Allen has spent her entire educational career in the Beaufort County School District. Besides this, she has also served in the United States Army, earning two achievement medals for completing large tasks in minimal time.

Brantley Wilson Appointed as Principal of Whale Branch Middle School

Brantley Wilson will be replacing Jamie Allen as principal at Whale Branch Middle School. Prior to this, he was involved in several certified and leadership roles at the Beaufort Jasper Academy for Career Excellence. With a robust experience in educational leadership, he is all geared up to assume his new role.

Sonji Leach to Lead Whale Branch Early College High School

Sonji Leach would be the new principal at the Whale Branch Early College High School. Previously, she served as the assistant principal at Beaufort High School. Leach is an authority figure in administrative roles, having worked as a principal in Georgia and other leadership roles in Columbia.

Keith Stewart to Head Bluffton Middle School

Lastly, Keith Stewart, the former assistant principal of Bluffton Middle School, is assuming the role of the principal of the same school. His predecessor Matt Hall has accepted the principal position at Bluffton High School. Stewart, who has a rich history of working in educational roles within the county, is primed to move into this new leadership position.

The district proudly announced that the selected candidates were chosen by highly competent interview committees. The committees were comprised of teacher leaders, feeder/cluster principals, School Improvement Council members, the Chief Human Resources Officer, a Human Resources representative, an Executive Director, and a representative of the district’s Instructional Services division. Gathering the opinions of each member, ratings were submitted to Superintendent Rodriguez, who proceeded with the final recommendations to the Board of Education.

This exciting decision by the Beaufort County School District aims to maintain its tradition of delivering top-tier education, backed by experienced and dedicated professionals. With these veteran administrators moving into their new leadership roles, the school district is expecting another successful academic year ahead.
