Bluffton Kicks Off the Holiday Fun

Bluffton is set to kick off the holiday season with its 53rd annual Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony! Mark your calendars for December 6 at 5:30 p.m. at Martin Family Park, where the tree lighting will shine a spotlight on the city. Following the official lighting, bring the kiddos to Santa’s Workshop at Dubois Park’s Pavilion, where laughter and joy await! This year’s special feature is a screening of the beloved film “Polar Express” at 6:30 p.m. Don’t forget to pack your blankets and chairs for a cozy evening!

This year’s festivities include a brand new train ride available during the tree lighting! It’s time to make new memories, so hop on board as it runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Christmas parade will follow the next day, December 7 at 10 a.m., winding through Bluffton’s historic district. It’s a true celebration that welcomes visitors and residents alike!

Celebrate with a Menorah Lighting

Bluffton is also rolling out the festivities with their second annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony on December 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Martin Family Park. This event is free and welcomes everyone in the community to join and celebrate all traditions together!

Important Parade Info!

Before heading out to enjoy the parade, make sure you’re aware of the rules! No throwing of candy or items from parade floats is allowed, but participants are welcome to walk alongside floats and distribute goodies hand-to-hand – how fun is that? Be mindful of the road closures as well, starting at 8 a.m. on December 7!

Just a friendly reminder—please ensure all vehicles are removed from parade routes before 7 a.m., as any cars remaining will be towed. The roads affected include Bridge Street and Calhoun Street, among others.

Catch it from Home!

Weather concerns? No problem! The parade will continue rain or shine, and who knows, maybe the rain will add a little magic! And for those who can’t make it out, don’t worry! You can catch all the parade action from the comfort of your home on Beaufort County TV (BCTV) or YouTube!

Ridgeland Gets Ready to Shine

Meanwhile, just a short drive away, Ridgeland is ready to light up the night with their own Christmas festivities on December 5 at 6 p.m. in downtown. Enjoy beautifully decorated floats, festive golf carts, and of course, the joyous presence of Santa Claus himself! After the parade, don’t miss the free activities offered at the Blue Heron Nature Center, including hot chocolate, face painting, and delightful entertainment!

Hardeeville’s Merry on Main

And let’s not forget about Hardeeville, celebrating with the Annual Christmas Parade on December 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Main Street! This joyous event promises themed floats, live performances, and holiday music that’ll have you tapping your feet! It’s the perfect chance to wave at Santa as he rolls into town!
